Homeowners Insurance
Keep Your Roof AND Keep Your Homewoner's Insurance
Did you know that insurance carriers can no longer force you to replace your roof or deny you coverage based solely on the age of your roof?
In June of 2022, our state legislators here in Florida passed some pretty significnt property insurance reforms. Senate Bill 2D was passed to provide protection for Florida property owners against insurance carriers forcing expensive and unneccessary roof replacements just because a roof hits a certain age. Power was shifted from insurance carriers into the hands of state-licensed roofing inspectors that look at the condition of the roof rather than age.
If your roof is a candidate for rejuvenation, you will be provided with a roof certification from an independent, state-licensed roof inspector indicating at least 5 years or more of useful life remaining. With this certification, ALL carriers underwriting homeowner's insurance here in the State of Florida CANNOT deny coverage or force replacement as a condition of renewal. It's Florida law and we wouldn't treat your roof without being able to provide this certification along with our rejuvenation process.
